The Bicester and Otmoor Cornbrash Groundwater Body (GWB) describes part of the Oolite geological strata. The Cornbrash is described as a relatively thin layer (few metres) of “rubbly” Limestone separated from the rest of the Great Oolites Principal aquifer by the Forest Marble Mudstone. The Cornbrash outcrops over much of the groundwater body and as such there is little confinement in many areas. Some of the monitoring points though are well confined beneath Oxford Clay.
