About
The Maidenhead Chalk groundwater body is a principal aquifer that is an important supply of drinking water for the region. The majority of the groundwater body is unconfined and therefore at risk from vertical migration of contamination from activities at ground level. To the south the Chalk becomes confined under the Lambeth Group and the London Clay.
