    About

Starting in the Malvern Hills this catchment includes the Marlbank, Longdon and Bushley Brooks. It is primarily rural with a mixture of livestock & arable farms. It has several reasonably sized villages and associated sewage treatment works. The water bodies tend to be fairly slow moving with areas of ponding and straightening. Nutrient enrichment from agricultural and sewage discharges mean that these watercourses suffer from eutrophication. This manifests itself with increased growth of macrophytes and an exaggerated variation in dissolved oxygen levels. The catchment has a number of SSSIs; these include Castlemorton, Rye Street and Barn Meadow.
