What is a Compliance Assessment Report (CAR) form?

Created: 10th April 2025

A Compliance Assessment Report (CAR) form is used by Environment Agency (EA) officers to assess compliance with Environmental Permits. It records findings from site inspections, audits, monitoring activities, and reviews of data/reports. CAR forms notify operators of permit condition breaches, their Compliance Classification Scheme (CCS) score, and any actions the EA is considering.
