    About

The North West Norfolk Operational Catchment includes the chalk streams the Heacham, Ingol, Babingley and Nar. They flow from springs in the chalk uplands towards the coast and the Wash. The Nar is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The area is mainly rural, with many small villages. The town of Kings Lynn is the main urban area, with the seaside resorts of Heacham and Hunstanton adding to the character of the area. Land use is diverse with arable and grassland areas are interspersed with large belts of mixed woodland. The catchment contains sites of exceptional environmental value.
