About
The River Ouzel rises from chalk springs in the Chilterns. It flows northwards, through Leighton Buzzard, skirts east of Milton Keynes and joins the River Great Ouse at Newport Pagnell. The Clipstone and Broughton Brooks are its main tributaries. This catchment also includes a short section of River Great Ouse (Wolverton to Newport Pagnell), the Loughton Brook (draining west Milton Keynes) and Tathall Brook to the north. The Grand Union Canal runs north-south along the River Ouzel valley. Milton Keynes, a major urban area, dominates the north of the catchment. The rest of the catchment is mainly rural.
