        About

        The Lower Greensand Arun & Western Streams which is at poor status and required CBA. Measures address rising trends of nitrates and include reducing agricultural nitrate loss and improving private sewage treatment. The area of concern in this groundwater body is approximately 2km2, and the measures are relatively cheap (as there are no sewers in the Safeguard Zones around the affected abstractions), so the Benefit to Cost ratio is particularly high for this groundwater body.Measures to ensure no deterioration focus on regulation and partnerships to reduce pollution by pesticides, oils and solvents.
