      About

      Unfortunately this has impacted on Colne Water and its tributaries. Many of the rivers are heavily modified, within stone built channels. There are numerous weirs resulting from the textile industries requirement for water. The older sewage system is combined so there are storm overflows. United Utilities Colne Sewage Treatment Works discharges into Colne Water.
