About
The Irwell Management Catchment covers an area of over 777 square kilometres. To the north, pasture and heather moorland are dissected by narrow, steep sided valleys. Further south, flatter, low lying land is heavily urbanised and includes the post-industrial towns of Bolton, Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, Manchester and Salford.
