Lineage
A number of data layers from different sources were geoprocessed to produce this layer. The main source layer was the BTO wet grassland hotspot tetrads for Curlew, Lapwing, Redshank and Snipe. This was restricted to land within Less Favoured Areas(2010 Defra) but excluded land within the Moorland Line (2010 RPA). Also, land within this area was restiected to slopes less than 9 degrees (slope data derived from Next Perspectives) and onlu inlcuded parcels greater than 2ha (RPA 2017). A number of habitat types such as woodland and blanket bog (Forestry Commision and Natural England respectively) were also excluded from the area. Finally the layer was generalised to get rid of parcel boundariesand internal holes less than 10 ha. Field parcels identified as suitable habitat by Natural England advisers have also been included in the layer.
