This record is for Approval for Access product AfA130. Information regarding the presence, and abundance, of benthic invertebrate species at specific marine monitoring points held within the Environment Agency’s BIOSYS database (our main database for storing, manipulating and reporting data from freshwater and marine biological surveys at any taxonomic level) and Water Framework Directive marine benthic invertebrate database. Data are laboratory assessed and quality assured following the National Marine Biological Analytical Quality Control (NMBAQC) scheme. National databases are continually being updated as a result of ongoing benthic invertebrate monitoring programmes. The extracted data is a subset of the full dataset and only includes data collected/owned by the Environment Agency.
