Exotic Notifible Disease Report Case Resolution Vocabulary

Summary

This dataset provides a codelist for reason an Exotic Notifiable Disease investigations carried out by the Animal and Plant Health Agency where resolved. Investigations that follow the report of an exotic notifiable disease are called 'report cases'. Notifiable diseases in this context are animal diseases that an animal owner/keeper is under legal obligation to report to the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), even if there is only a suspicion that an animal may be affected. 'Exotic diseases' are defined as diseases that are not currently present within the United Kingdom. Resolution refers to the way the report case was resolved. The following definition are defined. Negated on Clinical Negating on grounds of the clinical situation. Negated after Lab Negated after submitted samples for laboratory testing. Confirmed on Lab A report case that has been confirmed as a notifiable disease outbreak after laboratory testing. Slaughtered Boar has been slaughtered following negative result for Brucellosis and no clinical signs of disease on premises. Exported The animal in question has been exported following agreement with the importing country. Outside Jurisdiction The animal is not resident in Great Britain. EVA Cases only Castrated The Equidae has been castrated. Gelding The Equidae has been previously castrated. Not Served within 14 days A positive result from a Mare that has not been served in 14 days. Restricted Pending Owner Decision An Equidae that remains under breeding restrictions, pending a decision from the owner a whether to do further testing or castrate. Negative Semen Samples Horse negated for EVA after two negative semen test 7 days apart Reducing Titre Reducing Titre an Equidae shows a reducing titre between blood tests below the positive threshold? Vaccinated Horse is vaccinated against EVA.
