High density navigation routes 2012 (90th Percentile)
Summary
This dataset has been developed to support marine plan policy development in the South Marine Plan areas. The dataset is based on AIS information and shows where 90% of all shipping activity occurs.

This dataset has been derived from the 2012 AIS dataset. The 90th percentile of all vessels average density was calculated based on the annual_ave column of the 2012 AIS dataset and extracted into a new dataset. This dataset was then smoothed.
