Summary

This dataset provides a codelist for the person or organisation that reported suspicion of an Exotic Notifiable Disease. These investigations are carried out by the Animal and Plant Health Agency. Investigations that follow the report of an exotic notifiable disease are called 'report cases'. Notifiable diseases in this context are animal diseases that an animal owner/keeper is under legal obligation to report to the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), even if there is only a suspicion that an animal may be affected. 'Exotic diseases' are defined as diseases that are not currently present within the United Kingdom. Reported by Who refers to the origin of the report. These are: Owner: Owner of the Livestock or Livestock Keeper PVS: Private Veterinary Surgeon Lab Vet: A Veterinary Pathologist working in government laboratory OV(SH): An Official Veterinarian working in a slaughter house Police: On duty policeman Trading Standards: Trading Standards Inspector Egg Market Inspector: Egg Market Inspector Healthcare Professional: Healthcare Professional Other: Any other person or body which not included above. For Non Negative Lab Results the options are APHA Weybridge: for results reported from Weybridge Laboratory Pirbright: for results reported from the Pirbright Institute Private Lab: for results reported from a non government lab Other: for results reported elsewhere typically an importing countries government lab
