How Do I Find My Single Business Identifier (SBI)?

Created: 10 December 2019 Updated: 11 April 2023

A main Single Business Identifier (SBI) is a unique nine digit number given to a farmer or business that is involved in an agricultural activity.  It is not the same as a trader SBI.  Your SBI, or that of your client, can be found in most correspondence from the RPA, or can be found by logging into the Rural Payments portal and looking at the Business Details section.

If you can't locate your SBI or your SBI isn’t working then please contact us via email at ruralpayments@defra.gov.uk, or via telephone on 03000 200 301.
