Account Registration Process
Created: 18 April 2019 Updated: 18 August 2021
Most datasets on the Defra Data Services Platform are free to access without the need to register for an account. However, access to some datasets is restricted to registered users. See this article for details on who is eligible to register.
To register for an account please use the following link: https://environment.data.gov.uk/register.
After you have registered for an account you should normally receive a confirmation email with a link to set your password. If you do not receive an email after 2 working days, please get in contact with us using the Report a Problem form.
Alternatively, if you have not received your first or second email please do the following:
Check your spam or junk folder.
Try registering again - if you registered with the correct or same email it should give you a warning that this email is already in use (if you don't get this warning then maybe you mistyped your email in the first request).
Contact your IT department or Email administrator to check if the emails have been blocked or quarantined.
