How Can I Access Ordnance Survey (OS) Data Through The Defra Data Services Platform?

Created: 08 May 2019 Updated: 10 June 2021

A number of Ordnance Survey datasets, such as MasterMap and 1:50 000 colour raster, are available from the Defra Data Services Platform (DSP), but due to OS licensing restrictions we can only provide the data to registered users.  Similarly, datasets derived from OS data, such as the Environment Agency’s Detailed River Network, are also restricted.

Users with PSGA accounts can only access OS derived products through the DSP.  They are expected to acquire the source OS products directly from OS under normal PSGA supply routes.

Datasets released under an OS Open licence are not available through the DSP.

These can instead be accessed by anyone from Ordnance Survey’s website.
