Summary management approach
Protect key highways of Marine Parade and Tredenham Road, while also allowing for private maintenance of harbour breakwater and walls in the main settlement, adjacent to The Quay, Kings Road and The Square. Sea level rise will increase pressure in the long term but sheltered nature and limited exposure to wave energy should mean that this apoproach is sustainable for at least the short and medium term, although some improvements may be rquired during that timeframe where overtopping already occurs. Other options would involve damage to the town and its heritage and significant expense.
