St Ives Harbour 25.4
Summary management approach
Maintain defences to protect residential and commercial properties, heritage interest and the core viability of St Ives. The shoreline tends to accumulate sediment which will help offset some of the effects of sea level rise, however continued protection is likely to lead to coastal squeeze and consequently increased wave overtopping. Increased resilience of properties as well as improved flood warning and drainage services are therefore needed to complement defence works in the long term.
